Application:
Salt Water Gel is made up of thin; rod-shaped that behave differently to bentonite platelets. It is very effective viscosifier in salt water fluids and saturated brines.
Salt gel gives better shear thinning characteristics than bentonite, but because of its particle shape, does not control fluid loss. Fluid loss additives, viscosifier, starch, or fluid loss control additives can be added for this purpose.
Salt gel systems are less effective at prolong periods at high tempreture.
